What it isTangsuyuk is Korean-Chinese sweet and sour pork: pork loin in a light starch batter, fried crisp and served with a tangy-sweet sauce. Ours is fully cooked, with the sauce packed on its own.
What it tastes likeCrisp outside, tender pork inside. The sauce is sweet and tangy with fruit and vegetables, not spicy at all.
How Koreans enjoy itKoreans argue endlessly about tangsuyuk: buwomeok (pour the sauce on) versus jjikeomeok (dip it). Keeping the sauce separate lets both camps eat in peace.
