jjimdak (Traditional Soy-Braised Chicken)

Andong-jjimdak is a variety of jjim, which originated in the city of Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and is made with chicken, various vegetables marinated in a ganjang based sauce. The name literally means "steamed chicken of Andong. 

 

[How to cook and eat]

1. In a wide pan, carefully place all the ingredients except onions and glass noodles. (Adjust the spiciness with serrano peppers)
2. Add 500ml of water and boil over medium-high heat for about 10-15 minutes.
3. Once the broth has reduced to about 80%, add onions and glass noodles, and simmer over medium heat for an additional 5-7 minutes.
4. When the potatoes are cooked, you can sprinkle some sesame seeds and sesame oil on top according to your preference before serving.
